Dean Henry North, 84 of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Dean was born and raised in Lackawanna, NY and served in the Navy from 1951-1955. He moved to the south after his Navy service and lived in Roebuck since 1967. Mr. North spent his career as a salesman in household moving services. Throughout his life, he loved hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a hard worker who was dedicated to providing for his family.
Mr. North is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gill North; son, Michael North; daughter, Dawn North; and parents, Clarence and Beatrice North. He is survived by his sons, Rayce North, Mark North; daughter, Sharon Brooks; sisters, Bonnie North and Donna Gill; grandchildren, Tim Dailey, James and Rachael North, Richard, Matthew, David and Margaret North, Brian and Scott Brooks, and Jackie, Dustin and Sean Freeman; and 11 great grandchildren.
The celebration of Mr. North’s life will be at 12pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11am.
