Delores S. Lane, age 90, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on February 19, 2019. She was born in Mobile, AL, to Bertrand and Ella (Fail) Stewart and grew up in the years following the Great Depression. She learned early to make the best of what you had and to be thankful for having what you need.
Delores graduated from Murphy High School and chose to be a homemaker while her children were young. As they grew up and moved away she began a long and successful career in retail, winning sales awards year after year. She was the center of her family and was a woman of character, intelligence, and determination.
Delores is survived by her siblings, Bertrand Stewart, Jr., Barbara Harrington, Joan Serba, Eleanor Schmitt; her children, Terry Lane (Mary), Karen Baucum and Byron Lane (Tamera); eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in Mobile.
