Dennis Clarence Cole

Dennis Clarence Cole, age 82, of Hoover, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Dennis was born February 9, 1939 to the late Lois Ann Wilson Cole and Buster William Cole in Jasper, Alabama. Dennis attended University of Alabama and furthered his education at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dennis was a member of North Shelby Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Dennis Cole was married to Dorothy Ann Williamson on January 22, 1961 in Ashland, Alabama. They were blessed with one child. He worked for Alabama Power Company as a Civil Engineer for 31 years. In his leisure, he enjoyed golf, softball, Alabama football, and church activities. Dennis was an active member in the Alabama Society of Civil Engineers, Capstone Engineering Society, State of Alabama Professional Engineers, and Central Alabama Amateur Softball Association, in which he receive a Hall of Fame award. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Buster William Cole and Lois Ann Wilson Cole. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Williamson Cole; daughter, Cathy Denis Cole Wall; grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Wall Maynard (Jacob) and Anna Cathryn Wall; one great-grandchild, Levi Jacob Maynard; siblings, William L. Cole, Jeanine Sellers (Jim), Harold R. Cole Sr. (Martha), Joe W. Cole Sr. (Helen), Vicki Bleich (Amos).

A visitation for Dennis will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at North Shelby Baptist Church, 4100 Belcher Dr., Birmingham, AL 35242, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions please make donations to North Shelby Baptist Church.
