Don graduated from Ensley High School before earning his undergraduate degree in Accounting at The University of Alabama. He worked as a CPA in Birmingham for over 30 years.
Don was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, and treasurer. Later, he and his family joined Lakeside Baptist Church.
Don was predeceased by his parents, Samuel Holland and Ozella Tibbetts Holland, and a sister, Margie Kurtts.
Survivors include Don's wife of 63 years, Margaret Aderholt Holland; two sons, Alan Holland of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama and Jon Holland (Kim) of Huntsville; two brothers, Heyward Holland and Doug Holland, both of Birmingham; and three grandchildren, Brandon, Mallory, and Blake.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, followed by the graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
