"Eddie" graduated from Jess Lanier High School and earned his Bachelor Degree in Business from the University of Alabama. He worked in furniture sales for over 30 years.
Eddie was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover. He loved to spend every possible moment with his three daughters and five precious grandbabies.
Eddie was predeceased by his wife, Jeri Thigpen, to whom he was married on June 19, 1976. Also preceding Eddie in death was his father, William Jackson Thigpen.
Survivors include Eddie's mother, Mary Evelyn Thigpen; three daughters, Ashley Glidewell (Matthew), Jesslyn Quinn (Jerry), and Candace Thigpen; grandchildren, Jackson Glidewell (4), Jones Glidewell (1), Brooks Quinn (7), William Quinn (4), and Maggie Quinn (2); and one brother, Johnny Thigpen.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the main worship center at Hunter Street Baptist Church, Hoover, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at the main worship center. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Dr. Buddy Gray will officiate.
