Scott, age 45, passed away peacefully at his home in Cahaba Heights, AL, from a two-year battle with brain cancer. Scott is from the Rocky Ridge area of Vestavia Hills, AL, and attended Shades Valley High School, Briarwood Christian School and Auburn University. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Fields Harris; daughters, Lucy and Ruby Harris of Cahaba Heights; and parents, Mary Elaine and Terrell Harris of Leeds. Scott also leaves behind four brothers, Craig (Tammy) of Gardendale, AL, Chris (Kathy) and Bryan (Julie) of Birmingham, AL, and Chad (Misty) of Rockwall, TX; 14 nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Betty Fields of Northport, AL.Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church, 2541 Rocky Ridge Road, Birmingham, AL. A Celebration of Life service will be at Mt. Chapel UMC at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013. The private graveside service for family and close friends will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Scott Harris's name to Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church or Wheeling for Hope (wheelingforhope.org), benefiting brain tumor research and patient support services.
