

He was born in Crewe, VA on January 4th, 1935. Lee received a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. He was married to Catherine Gibbs Trinkle on June 13, 1959. They were married 51 years, prior to her passing in 2010.
Lee served in the Armed Forces, both the Army and the Navy Reserves. He was a civil engineer before being called into ministry as a PCA pastor and missionary to Taiwan. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hiking the Appalachian Trail, gardening, any time in the woods, and especially loved time at his farm in Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Lee Trinkle, Jr. and Dorothy Kidd Trinkle, his sister, Sue Trinkle Schott, his wife, Catherine Gibbs Trinkle, and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Fain Bone. He was the grandson of former Commonwealth of Virginia Gov. E Lee Trinkle.
He is survived by his daughters, Leta Sue Bone, Mary Elizabeth Trinkle, and Virginia Lee Trinkle, his grandchildren, Andrew Jordan Bone, William Joseph Bone (Chloe), John Patrick Bone, Laura Catherine Glencairn (Cole), and Lucy Elizabeth Bone, and great-grandson, River Fain Glencairn.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11am on March 13th, 2026 at Southern Heritage. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mission to the World (mtw.org) and Samford University (Jeffrey F. Bone Memorial Scholarship).
