

Forrest Kimball Geno,90, formerly of Montgomery, AL and a resident of Kingsport, TN passed away on May 1,2014. He was born in New Orleans, LA on 8/28/23. Forrest graduated from Ensley HS and received a degree in Secondary Education from Huntingdon College. He was married to Isabel J. Sims for 62 years before her death in 2009.
He proudly served his country, entering the US Navy in 1941 and served as a diesel mechanic on various ships in the Pacific until 1947. He reenlisted in the Army in 1947 and then into the Air Force in 1951. He considered the completion of the OSI program in 1955 and working as a special investigator to be the high point of his military career. He served for 26 years 9 months until his medical retirement in 1968. He continued to work as a private investigator while he attended Huntingdon College. He was a teacher in Special Education for 10 years in Montgomery. He fully retired in 1980 when his health became an issue.
Forrest was a member of the Gunter AFB Chapel in Montgomery and an active volunteer at the Veteran’s Hospital. He held a special interest in the Special Olympics and the Goode Street school. He was a member of the Air Force One Masonic Lodge #889, Scottish Rite and the Order of the Eastern Star Caroline Courtney Chapter 516 of Montgomery and the Air Force Sargent’s Association.
He is survived by his children: son Kimball (Connie) of Hoover,AL, son Rodney (Dorthy) of Ft Worth, TX; daughter Isabelle (Ron) of Chickamauga, GA; and son Roy (Beth) of Kingsport, TN. His grandchildren: Aaron and Adam; John Paul (Jaclyn), Christopher and Aimee; Bonnie (Scott) and Nathan; and David. Extended family Michael (Samantha), Steven (Chelsea), Aliza (James) and Natalie (Jay). The great grand children: NoraJean (Bonnie), Robert (Steven) and Olivia (Michael).
The family wishes to express a special ‘thank you’ to the staff of Asbury Place Steadman Hills, to Dr. Mark C. Jenkins, MD and the Hospice staff of Wellmont Health Systems in Kingsport.
Visitation will be held May 5th from 12 noon to 100pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL. Graveside services will follow at 130pm at Valhalla Cemetery in Birmingham, AL.
