George Scott Cavanaugh, age 60, of Pelham, Alabama passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. He was born on January 13, 1964 to his parents, Lynn George Cavanaugh and Carolyn Kay Douglas in Kailua, Hawaii.
Scott received his formal education at Shades Valley High School. Later, he furthered his education at UAB and pursued his degree in Business Management.
Scott attended Life of Faith church in Irondale, Alabama. He was employed by P&S Trucking Company as a Breakdown Specialist.
In his leisure, he enjoyed building models of airplanes, playing darts, and bowling. He was also a wildlife enthusiast. Scott was a member of the Phantom Phlashers, which is a scale modeling club.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Lynn George Cavanaugh; maternal grandparents, Edra and Kermit Ray of Starkville, MS; paternal grandparents, Marietta and Eugene Goldstein of Mountain Book, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Carolyn Kay Douglas; his two aunts; Virginia Wesley (Sonny) and Barbara Searls (David); his two uncles, William "Bill" Ray (Geneva) and Stephen Goldstein.
A funeral service for Scot will be held Friday, March 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
