MARTIN, GLADYS PAULINE, age 85, of Alabaster, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 11, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Edward Martin; a son, Dean Bryan Martin (Sherrie); and a daughter, Patricia Martin Hixson (Ben). She was blessed with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. "Polly" and "Art" recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. She was a devoted wife and mother who spent her life caring for her family and home. She was truly a virtuous woman. "She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:27-28. Polly will be greatly missed by her family and the many who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011, with visitation between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. Memorials may be made to Evangel Church PCA in Alabaster, or to Gideons International Memorial Bible Fund.
