Harriett Winslett

Harriett Ann Bates Randall Winslett was born on October 19, 1937 to the union of Raymond and Daisy Bates in Arab, Alabama. Harriett received her formal education at Thompson High School in Alabaster, AL. She furthered her education Auburn University in Auburn, AL. Harriett was a member of Alabaster Methodist Church. Harriett Bates was united in holy matrimony with Henry Winslett on July 2, 1992 in Alabaster, AL. She was employed by Crestwood Realty as a Office Manager.

Harriett was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Daisy Bates; sister, Patricia Henegar; husband, Henry Winslett and great grand-daughter, Sadie Leigh Hodges.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Shelia Hodges (Barry) and Bridget DeLoach (David); one son, John Randall; grandchildren, Trenton Hodges (Naomi), Trevor Hodges (Erica), Michael Randall, Amelia Randall, Kyle DeLoach, Payne DeLoach and one great grandchild, James Barrett Hodges.

A visitation for Harriett will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM at Southern Heritage Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
