

Harvey McDonald Nabors, age 98, of Vestavia Hills passed away September 3, 2019. He was born in Birmingham, AL on June 17, 1921. Harvey graduated from Ensley High School and studied Engineering at Birmingham Extension Center UA (now UAB). He worked in Steel Fabrication for Chicago Bridge and Iron and he was also very successful in Real Estate Development. Harvey married the love of his life on December 6, 1941, Mrs. Opal Lee Storey Nabors. Harvey was an aircraft owner and was a member of Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, he enjoyed flying every chance he got. He enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling and spending time with friends and family. Harvey is predeceased by his wife Opal Lee Storey Nabors; mother, Rosa P. Nabors; father, Max C. Nabors; sisters, Frieda Hardin, and Maxine Lowery; great-granddaughter, Elise Alford. He is survived by his children, Rebecca N. Savage-Sherrer (Gary) of Vestavia Hills and Donald M. Nabors (Donna) of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Andrea Noonan (Rusty) of Montrose, AL, Adam Nabors (Theresa) of Birmingham, AL, Elizabeth Alford (John) of Helena, AL, Allison Corbin (Jason) of Vestavia Hills, AL, John Baskerville of Vestavia Hills, AL; step grandchildren, Nathan Sherrer (Virginia) of Columbus, OH, Rachel Blitch (Will) of Savannah, GA; great-grandchildren, James and Silas Alford, Harper and Landon Corbin; step great-grandchildren, Cooper and Hill Blitch.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 10:00am to 10:30am with a service to follow at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery concluding service.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Amelia Center or Air Charity Network.
