

Inez Bailey Walters was born on July 19, 1927, to Cuba Bailey and Lela Jones Bailey in Birmingham, Alabama. Inez Bailey was united in holy matrimony with Woodrow Walters on June 12, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama. Their union was blessed with 4 children. Inez was a member of the Rocky Ridge Church. She served in the church choir, as a Sunday School teacher, and the CPW. She enjoyed spending time with family and caring for her children, grandchildren, and many other children throughout the years. She was a phenomenal cook and served those all around her. She had an exceptionally quick wit, and played tag well into her 80s; her apple and pecan pies were undisputed champions, and her fried squash and fried cornbread are family favorites.
Inez Walters was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Woodrow Walters, her daughter Cheryl Walters, her parents Cuba and Lela Bailey, and her siblings Willie, Lucille, Willard, and Rubie. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Darlyce Bundy (Skip d.,S.O. Ron), Rita Peters (David), and Cindy Petitt (David); her grandchildren Jonathan Peters (Meredith), Michael Peters (Christina), Rachel Gibson (Garrett), and Katie Petitt; Great-Grandchildren Josiah Peters, Caleb Peters, Jude Peters, Violet Peters, and Eloise Gibson.
Visitation will be held at Rocky Ridge Church on September 7, 2024 at 10:00 am with a funeral
service beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Croft Acton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
please send donations to the Rocky Ridge Church.
