Jim was a fine example of a Christian, father, grandfather, and friend. He worked hard all of his life, loving and supporting his family and helping anyone anytime. He was loved and admired by all who knew him.
An avid fisherman, Jim found the most joy in spending every possible moment with his son Scott and Scott's family.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Isbell Langston; his father, Frank G. Langston; his five siblings; his wife, Francis Langston; and one son, Jason Langston.
In addition to his son James "Scott" Langston, Jim is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ginger Langston; grandson, Daniel Langston; great-grandsons, Aaron and Dylan Langston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Celebration of Jim's Life at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Burial will be at Wooten Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cahaba Heights, Alabama.
