Janice Sue Miller

Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold R. Miller. She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Sherry) of Hoover, Alabama and Jeffrey (Karen) of Wilmette, Illinois; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jan graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 1954 and practiced as a registered nurse before moving to Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1956. She lived many years in Brazil, became fluent in Portuguese and made many life-long friends in Sao Paulo. She lived in Riverside, Connecticut, London, England, and Hidden Hills, California before settling in Alabama in 1977. She and Harry were members of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Vestavia Hills.

Jan was a great conversationalist who made everyone feel welcome in her presence. She was a kind, quiet and private lady who was well respected by all. Her warm, witty, and engaging personality will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The private graveside service will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
