

Following a private graveside service at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL, the memorial service for Jo Ann was on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, AL. Dr. Bill Johnston officiated.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Emma Mae Wilbanks Cobb Clearman and Joe Walter Cob, and her daughter, Allyson Lynn Evans Roebuck. Survivors include her devoted husband, Billy Dale "Bill D." Evans.
Jo Ann attended Sydney Lanier High School in Montgomery and Auburn University in Auburn, AL, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. She enjoyed many forms of recreation, including tennis and bowling on a league. She always had an inquisitive nature, which could be seen in her love of travel both throughout the United States and abroad.
One of Jo Ann's favorite hobbies was scrapbooking. She was a creative artist and a meticulous scrapbooker, and many benefited from her beautiful and meaningful creations.
One of the most important communities to Jo Ann's life was The Fabulous Five, a group of women who were best friends. They would always meet for birthday celebrations, and to share life's joys and struggles. They continued to maintain their connection throughout their lives.
Jo Ann's most valued community was her church, Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Homewood. She was active in the church, where she participated in Vacation Bible School, Sunday school, women's conferences, and various other programs offered throughout the years.
Although these accomplishments convey a life well-lived, Jo Ann's greatest loves were her husband and daughter. She respected and honored her husband through her life and cherished and valued the relationship with her daughter. Jo Ann will be greatly missed by her husband of 63 years and her many friends. She brought much joy to all who knew her.
