Jo Ann D. Thacker went to be with her Lord on April the 6th, 2017 at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Dunham; sisters, Margaret Sutherland and Merle Lawley; husband, William R. Syphurs. Survivors include her husband, James A. Thacker; children, Rhonda A. Syphurs and Jeffrey R. (Terrie) Syphurs; grandchildren, Rushton Syphurs; stepchildren, James D. Thacker, Jennifer E. Thacker, and John A. Thacker. Jo Ann spent her whole life in Birmingham. She was a devout Christian and a member at Lakeside Baptist Church where she was a member of both the Hope Sunday school class and the Lakeside Sanctuary Choir. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. There will be a celebration of Jo Ann’s life on Tuesday the 11th at 12 noon with visitation starting at 10am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.
