Joe Langford

October 8, 2014 Joe Wailes Langford, 77, departed this life Wed. Oct. 8, going Home to be with His Lord. He was educated in Birmingham schools-Norwood Elementary, then Phillips High-and later graduated from the University of Alabama. (He was a Crimson Tider all his life.) He was a long time member of Clairmont Ave Baptist, then Gardendale Baptist Churches. He was predeceased by his parents, John F and Lillian Moseley Langford, by a brother, John Jr, and a beloved son John Warner Langford. He is survived by a brother Jan Langford of Trussville, nieces and nephews. Joe worked for Plantation Patterns, Mrs. Stratton Salads in Birmingham, General Dynamics-Astronautics in San Diego; but retired in Birmingham after 30 years with W.C.Wright and Son Air Conditioning. Favorite interests were Tide football, his pool team (for 20 years) and music, especially bluegrass and opera. A memorial and visitation to celebrate his life will be Monday, Oct 13 at 6:30 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL (1-65 and Hwy 119.)
