John B. Lusco, 76 of Birmingham, died Wednesday surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Sam and Josephine Lusco, on July 5, 1941, in Birmingham, AL. He married Charlotte Anne Fowler in 1964, and they began their journey together in Birmingham, AL.
John was a Latin teacher and Dean of Students for nearly a half century and was a founding member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
Mr. Lusco is survived by three children, Leslie Leopard and Tim, Keith Lusco and Ann, and Robert Lusco; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Callie, and Connor Leopard, Evvy and India Lusco, and Andie Collum; and brothers, Charles Lusco, Phillip Lusco and Paul Lusco. John is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; and his two sons, David and Sean.
The funeral mass for John will be at 11am on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 9am. John will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association Research or Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School.
