John Robert Paradise, age 60, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.
John was a 1974 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School’s first graduating class. John was also a graduate of The University of Montevallo, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Epsilon. John continued to be active alumni for LXA for the rest of his life. He retired last year after a 35-year career with the State of Alabama Revenue Department. John had an intense passion for music and a love for photography. John loved everyone intently and had a Joie de Vivre for life.
John is survived by his parents, R. Stanley and Shirley Paradise; his beloved wife, Deb; two daughters, Sarah and Michele; two grandchildren, Emmi and John Wyatt; sister, Dell; and son-in-law, Tom Mickwee.
The celebration of John’s life will be on Friday, Feb. 5th at 11am at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Vestavia Hills, with visitation beginning at 10am. The burial for Mr. Paradise will be at 3:30pm at Section United Methodist Church Cemetery in Section, AL.
