John “Johnny” Paul Roper Jr., (53) of Birmingham, AL, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2025. He is a graduate of Shades Valley High School and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he studied Information Technology Systems. He was a talented computer programmer who was employed by EDP and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was a loving and devoted son of Brenda Hamrick Ammons, brother of Alicia Ammons Howell, brother in law of John Allen Howell. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery on May 31st at 10:30 a.m.
