Joseph T. Mason, 91 of Alabaster, AL and formerly of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. Joe graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga before joining the US Navy. He fought in the Pacific Theatre WWII. He attended the University of Houston, and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Mason was employed by Western Electric, DuPont, and Arnold Engineering Development Center.
Mr. Mason is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Dietzen; and parents, Joseph T. and Alice Wright Mason. He is survived by his son, William Joseph Mason and daughter, Priscilla Mason Gray (Dale); grandchildren, Valerie Gray Sanner (Chris), Todd Gray (Stephanie), Drew Mason, Ryan Mason and Katie Mason; and great grandchildren, Tyler Aaron Gray, Aiden Matthew Gray and Brooke Alysse Sanner.
The graveside service for Mr. Mason will be at 12 noon on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Corners Foundation, PO Box 5160, Farmington, NM 87499, or to St. Jude’s.
