Joyce Ann DeJonge died peacefully at age 73 on January 30th, 2025, after a bout with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Max DeJonge. Joyce was a native of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and has eight surviving brothers and sisters. She was born June 4, 1951 in Washington, IN. She graduated from high school there, attended college in Indianapolis and graduated from UAB in Birmingham.
She moved with her husband to Birmingham the result of a business move. She was active in tennis and working out until her later years. She loved the beach. She traveled extensively and was always a voracious reader. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 pm.
