

Judy Crowson Rose, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, was born to eternal life on July 4, 2016. After bravely battling a long illness with cancer, she peacefully left this earth surrounded by her family who loved her so dearly. She was a native of Birmingham, AL and a graduate of Banks High School.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John Will Crowson, Sr. and Winnie Bennett Crowson, and her brother John Will Crowson, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leonard Anthony Rose, Sr.; her four children: Judy Ann Leasure (Tim), Winnie Marie Easterling (Rick), Leonard Anthony Rose, Jr. (Darylene), and John Shannon Rose (Heather); her thirteen grandchildren: Brittany Finnegan (Ryan), Katie Leasure, Lauren Leasure, Zach Leasure, Chase Easterling, Jarrett Easterling, Carson Easterling, Parker Easterling, Michael Watson, Emily Rose, Joey Rose, John Daniel Rose and Sarah Rose; three great-grandchildren: Molly Epps, Micah Finnegan and Harper Batson, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law, Marie Rose Turkiewicz.
Judy's life was the embodiment of her constant faith and devotion to her family. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for many years before joining St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Birmingham, AL. Judy loved being with her family, spending time with them and helping them in any way that she could. In addition to raising her four children, she was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews. She found tremendous joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, rarely missing a recital, game, or other important event. Judy also enjoyed visiting with her beloved high school friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 7 from 5:30-7:30 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 7:30. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7340 Cahaba Valley Road. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Southern Heritage directing.
