In Loving Memory of Judy Nell Ross Schmidt, age 75, who passed away in Homewood, AL on Thursday evening, September 7, 2017. The Dallas, TX native graduated from Kimbell High School in 1959 and, in 1988, moved to the Birmingham area.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, James and Nell Ross. Survivors include Judy's husband, Neal Earl Schmidt; two sons, Dean Benedict and his wife Debbie, and Darin Benedict and his wife Angela; step-son, Jeffrey Schmidt; six grandchildren, Devin, Shanon, Whitney, Micah, Julia, and Shaila; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jimmy Ross and Ronny Ross, both of Dallas, TX.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hoover, AL. The memorial service will be at the church at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 with Pastor Chris DeGreen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
