Kenneth Wilson, 73, of Hoover, passed away on March 2, 2026. He was born in New York in 1953 to Adelaide and Kenneth Wilson. Ken served as Shelby County Commissioner in the late 1980s. While holding that office, he passionately advocated for a voter referendum in 1988 that established the first 9-1-1 center in Shelby County. Kenneth served in the Army during the Vietnam era. After the military, Ken worked in the medical field. His most noted achievement was serving St. Jude with the construction of their new facility in Memphis, TN
Ken is survived by his daughters, Maryann (John) Pledger, Elizabeth (Chris) Wood Weas, Jennifer (Kerry) Mcinerney, his loving sisters Lynn Agor, Mary (Enidio) Magel, and Terry Bozzelli, his grandchildren Ayden Pledger, Alec Pledger, Anna Claire Pledger, Adelaide Pledger, Anderson Pledger, his niece Nicolet (Barrett) Morgan, Ryan (Amanda) Bozzelli, Lindsay Agor, and Mark (Erin) Agor.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Adelaide and Kenneth Wilson, as well as his niece, Marisa Magel.
