Leslie "Chrys" Christine Austin

Chrys was loved so much by her family, friends and her dogs. Chrys is survived by her husband and best friend, Dan, daughter Jessica Britt (Beau), stepsons, Russell Austin (Ashley) and Andrew Austin (Ginger), brothers Doug, Clay and Drew Westrope and their families. Additionally, she is survived by four grandchildren (Jaxon, Emerson and Katelynn Britt and Camden Austin) who affectionately referred to her as “Nonnie”.

Chrys was born in Key West, Florida and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and Huntsville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Jeanne Westrope. After a successful career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Chrys retired in 2008.

In October of 1985, Chrys proclaimed Jesus Christ as her savior and lived every day with that commitment in her heart. She had an infinite love for her family that was matched only by their love for her. Chrys will be missed greatly by her family and so many friends.

A private service will be held for the family at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your local humane society.
