Lexie Mae Tollett Miller

Lexie Mae Tollett Miller went to be with the Lord on February 03, 2025. She was born on July 27, 1927 and was raised in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She was one of the last original members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church.

In her later years, she was an active and devoted member of both Shades Mountain and Church on the Bluff Baptist Churches. A former preschool teacher and bookkeeper, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, reading, and she faithfully played the piano every Sunday at a local nursing home. A caregiver by nature, she considered it her life’s mission, and she was never too busy to help anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelmina and Earl Tollett, her husband of 56 years, William H. Miller, her brother, Major H.T. Earl Tollett, Jr., her sister, Florine Miller, and her grandsons, Jake Miller and Jason Miller.

She is survived by her sister, Bettye Moore, sons, William H. Miller, Jr. (Glenda), John E. Miller (Sandy), Gregory D. Miller (Martha); daughter, Margaret M. Kallies (Klint), grandsons, Neil Miller (Christy) and Blake Miller (Sydney), granddaughters, Rebecca Kallies and Jordan Hill (Devan), great-grandsons, Clayton Miller and Kolton Hill, and great-granddaughters, Allyson Hill and Holland Miller.

A visitation for Lexie will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 PM. Following the funeral service, there will be a committal service at Hoover First United Methodist Church, Patton Chapel Cemetery, 1934 Patton Chapel Rd, Hoover, AL 35226.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Church on the Bluff.
