Lloyd Allen Dear

Lloyd Allen Dear, 72 of Hoover, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Lloyd grew up in Anniston, AL. He graduated from Anniston High School and attended Jacksonville State University. He and his wife of 42 years, Mary, lived in the Birmingham area for nearly 40 years. Mr. Dear retired from the transportation industry and was a member of Valleydale Baptist Church. He adored nature and enjoyed hobbies such as fishing and hunting. He and his family made many memories on Lake Martin. He was loved greatly and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Dear is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Lloyd Dear; father, Brista F. Dear; mother, Lucille Salvo Dear and brother, William Haskell Dear. He is survived by his wife, Mary Miller Dear; sister, Geraldine Dear Heptinstall; and numerous nephews and nieces.

The celebration of Mr. Dear’s life will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Eulaton Baptist Church in Anniston, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. David Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family will also host a visitation on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 7pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Eddie Heptinstall, Michael Heptinstall, Jeff Smith, David Heptinstall, Andrew Heptinstall, Judd Smith and Jett Smith.
