Louise Mcmahon Lazenby

LAZENBY, LOUISE MCMAHON Louise Phillips McMahon Lazenby, age 81, passed away Dec. 12, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a native of Birmingham and a long time member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, where she was an active member in the Agape Sunday School Class. She belonged to many civic and church organizations including the WMU, Round Table, Sewing Club and her Lakeshore swimming buddies. She knitted hats for the homeless each year and blankets for the premature babies with "Threads of Love". She never met a stranger. Each new acquaintance became a best friend. She was our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, aunt and best friend. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, William Reed McMahon and her second husband of 29 years, Thomas Lamar Lazenby. She is survived by her three children, Anne Rogers(Zack), Jane Lazenby (Tom), Bill McMahon (Jennifer), seven grandchildren, Tom Lazenby (Rebecca), Kevin Rogers (Megan), Brent Lazenby, Katie Korhonen (Chris), Lara Lazenby, Lindsey and Reed McMahon, two great grandchildren Heston Lazenby and Adelyn Rogers. brother Don Phillips (Dian), sister-in-law, Gail McMahon and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dian and Linda, for being sent by God to be our special angels for our Mother these last few weeks. Visitation will be 9:30 A.M-11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 15th. at Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Celebration of her life will follow. Dr. Charles Carter officiating. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
