

Peg was a graduate of St. Francis Academy in Joliet, Illinois. She has been an active member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and Vestavia Country Club. Peg enjoyed many hobbies including playing bridge and golf, being an avid reader and world traveler, and being a fan of Auburn football. She was also involved with Meals on Wheels, and the Visitation and Aid Society. She was also a beloved grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Dwyer is preceded in death by her husband, John Denis Dwyer and her parents, Edward and Grace Maher. She is survived by her sons, Patrick Dwyer (Lea) and Timothy Dwyer (Julianne); daughter, Marianne Truss (John); grandchildren, Michael Truss, Mary Catherine Truss, James Dwyer, Mary Kate Dwyer, Andrew Dwyer, Jack Dwyer, Devin Dwyer, Blake Dwyer, Peyton Dwyer and Brayden Dwyer.
Peg will be celebrated with a funeral mass at 11am on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, with burial following at Southern Heritage Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Dwyer be made to the American Heart Association.
