Marie Wren Moss was born in Booneville, MS on December 12, 1922. It was in Mississippi, while playing on her high school basketball team, that she met the love of her life, Lester A. Moss. After returning from WW2 Lester found Marie again and began their courtship. They were married in 1948 and raised two children, Ronnie and Debbie. Marie was a devoted Christian lady, active at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church for over 35 years. She took great joy in spending time with her family. Marie lived life to the fullest. Even in her 90's Marie took her annual pilgrimage to the NCAA Women's basketball Final Four with Debbie, her daughter and best friend.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Lester. She is survived by her children, Ronnie and Debbie, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral home in Pelham, AL on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. The visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. following by the funeral at 2:00 p.m.
