Marjorie A. Frazier, age 99, of Pelham, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was born in Canton, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1922 to Charles I. Spencer and Mary Spencer. She graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, New York in 1941.
Always adventurous and an achiever, Marjorie was licensed as a private pilot, in the Civil Air Patrol, before being a licensed automobile driver. During World War II, she worked in a munitions plant as others did. She always shared with family her love of roller skating and dance skating. In retirement, she was part of a clown troop through her church, ministering to children in hospitals and schools.
On September 11, 1947 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Marjorie married Clifford Henry Frazier when both worked for Capital Airlines. They relocated from Ypsilanti to St. Petersburg/Tampa, Florida when Capital was incorporated into United Airlines.
The airline employment offered them opportunities to travel extensively throughout the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Far East, Europe and parts of Middle East and Africa sometimes with their children and then together in retirement. Oftentimes in their latter travel years, pilots would come sit with them to discuss what the early air travel years were like.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Henry Frazier, in 1996 and her parents and sister.
Survivors include one son, Rickey "Rick" Bucklin Frazier (Eve) of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter, Holly Frazier Burnham (Jesse) of Pelham, Alabama; daughter, Gail Lynn Frazier of Tampa, Florida; granddaughter, Sarah Burnham Evans (Brian); grandson, Jonathan Seth Burnham (Catherine); and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life service for Marjorie will be held at Liberty Church, 2732 Old Rocky Ridge Rd., Birmingham, AL 35216 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022. Visitation will be from 11-11:30 a.m. with the service following. Pastor Bruce Terry will officiate.
Interment will be in Florida with Marjorie's husband.
