Mindy’s early years were spent growing up in Texas and Alabama. Returning to Alabama she became actively involved in the marching band at Pelham High School, serving on the flag corp. After graduation, she earned her Data Processing Certificate from Herzing University, the Associate of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from Samford University, and other IT certifications. She was employed with EBSCO Industries for close to 35 years, where she achieved roles as IT Business Analyst and Agile Product Owner.
Mindy loved her husband Bob, her family, her fellow EBSCO employees, and her many other friends. They will remember her as a Christian woman of deep faith whose compassion and caring for her peers joined with her get-it-done/make-it-happen work ethic. She was a quiet and reserved, but friendly and sociable, individual with a genuine sense of humor.
In her leisure, Mindy enjoyed collecting lion figurines and paintings, along with vintage antique stuffed animals. Her other interests included cross-stitching, beading, making jewelry, and stained glass art.
Mindy was preceded in death by her father, William Woodrow Wren; mother- and father-in-law, Bonnie Lee Franklin and Robert Benjamin Franklin; and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Oakes and Anita Branning.
Survivors include Mindy's husband of 25 years, Robert Earl Franklin; her mother, Pam Houck; one brother, Scott Wren (Spouse, Susan); niece and nephew, Ali Wren and Chris Wren (Spouse, Callyn); and three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Franklin, Dennis Franklin, and David Franklin, and their families.
Mindy's family and friends will gather to celebrate her life from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
