A life well-lived came to a peaceful end on March 2, 2020. Morgan Campbell was born to Grace Shoemaker and Morgan Pettus Campbell on April 14, 1938. Upon graduation from the University of Alabama where he earned a degree in chemistry, Morgan went to work at Southern Research Institute. Later, Morgan worked at Stockham Valves and Fittings where he retired as President. Morgan had numerous impressive professional accomplishments; however, the true measure of his life was shown by his love of family, generosity to those in need, and his faith in God. Morgan married Sara Palmer, the love of his life, and they had many happy adventures during their 57 years together. Morgan’s last acts were expressions of his great love for Sara. Morgan was a loving, patient, and generous father to his daughter, Andrea, who will miss him, his humor, and his wisdom with all of her heart. Morgan took great joy in being Grandpa to Jennifer and JC, who will carry his love for them and their wonderful memories of him forever. Morgan’s son-in-law, John Lentine, was a son to him and they shared many meaningful conversations as well as an enjoyment of football and good Scotch. Morgan’s sister Judith was very dear to him and he always held her close in his heart.
Morgan was predeceased by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sara Campbell; his daughter, Andrea Lentine (John); grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh and John Campbell Lentine; sister, Judith Williams (Craven); and Kim Bain, who was like a daughter to him.
The family extends their greatest appreciation to the nurses and doctors of CICU at Grandview Medical Center. Your extraordinary care and compassion enabled Morgan to be surrounded by love and to have the peaceful passing into God’s arms, which he so richly deserved.
