Michaels, Myerna, age 80, went home to the Lord on May 4, 2011. Member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Michaels was very active in the PTA, Engineers Wives, Docents for Tower Grove Park, “Save the Deer” in Town & Country, and was one of the founders of the Mt. Laurel Branch of Shelby County Library. She was one of the three authors of her Family History Book, now in the Library of Congress. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Mr. Frank Michaels. Daughters, Kathy (Jim) Weidenbaum and Laura (John) Graham. Grandchildren, Andy Weidenbaum, Brian Weidenbaum , Kevin Weidenbaum, Jen Graham, Les Graham, James Graham, Jared Graham and Jack Graham. We would like to give a special thanks to the loving nursing assistants of Brightstar Healthcare, Shirley Archie, Patricia Copeland, Brenda Freeman, Bernice Johnson and Arian Munnerlyn. The family will receive friends on Monday May 9, 2011 from 11:30 to 12:30 with a Chapel service starting at 12:30. Burial will be in the Alabama National Cemetery.
