Obituario de Nancy Johnson
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery

Nancy Jean Johnson, 75 years young, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Alabama surrounded by her loved ones.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Bonar of Annapolis, MD, and one brother, Donald Dew. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Everett Johnson; daughters, Kim (Rick) and Kristie (Brian); and grandchildren, Jonathan (Raven), Katelee and Nicholas, Kyle (Julia), and Noelle; and one great-grandchild.

Nancy graduated from Arundel High in 1963 and married Edgie in 1964. They built a home in Davidsonville, MD and raised their two daughters.

While Nancy was the lead singer in a gospel group “The Uriels,” they produced an album “The Light Of God” in the mid-1970’s. She remained active in the church choir.

In 2002, Nancy and Edgie moved to the Grand Cayman Islands to be with their eldest daughter, Kim, and grandchildren, and to enjoy a little retirement, Island style. Three years later, Nancy and Edgie moved back stateside to be close to their youngest daughter, Kristie, and grandchildren.

Nancy was an independent rep for Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 15 years. She was a manicurist for Raymand’s Hairstylist in Annapolis, MD for several years following.

Nancy prepared her entire life for the day of her passing and dancing through those pearly gates to meet her Maker. She was a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She exemplified everything good: love, strength, compassion, free spiritedness, and family. She was always happy and cheerful, and she loved to do for others.

Nancy's hobbies were crafts, baking, and decorating her home. In addition, she enjoyed harvesting what she sowed in her vegetable and herb gardens. She truly enjoyed time with her daughters, tagging along on errand rides, helping with craft shows, shopping, and making her daughters' houses into homes. And let us not forget she was a huge “Roll-Tide” fan. Saturday football games were always loud and proud.

Nancy's family will greatly miss her love, kindness, baking, long-winded voice messages, and the big hugs she loved to give.

The family will celebrate her wonderful life on November 20, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. at their private residence.
