Nancy W Nixon, age 76, of Pelham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. She is survived by her husband, William Nixon, sister, Kitty McNeel and brother, Larry Wright. She is preceded in death by her parents, Keith O. and Edith May Wright.
Shortly after Nancy's birth, her parents left Latrobe, PA for the West Coast of Florida. Her father was employed by the city Clearwater and her mother was a devoted and loving housewife. As a youth, Nancy attended Anona Elementary, Largo JHS and Largo HS. In high school, she was an honor student, sang the national anthem at football games, and performed in two musicals. She graduated from high school in 1967 and the University of South Florida in 1971.
Most of her life she worked as an administrative assistant, specializing in data entry, purchasing, and accounting. The vast majority took place in Clearwater, FL. She also had two passions: community theater and serving God.
From age 12-71 she appeared in over 80 musicals. Here are a few of her notable shows: Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, Oklahoma, The King and I, South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun, Brigadoon, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, and Hello Dolly. She was loved by her fellow thespians and always had a smile for them. She won several awards, both as an actor and volunteer. While serving as a theater critic in 2012, she interviewed Bill, a thespian and medicinal chemistry professor. He soon retired to Pelham, AL and they married in 2015. They were members of the Alabaster Jehovah Witness congregation. She is now a citizen of the Kingdom of God.
1 Peter 4:8 sums up Nancy's love for God, family and friends. "Above all things, have intense love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins."
