
WILLIAMS, OWEN KINKEAD Age 88, died December 30, 2010, in Trussville, AL. He was born August 06, 1922 in Birmingham, AL, to Harlan Newton and Annie Laurie Callaway Williams, grew up in Wahouma,123 North 68th Street, and graduated from Woodlawn High School. He retired as a salesman from Columbia Ribbon Company. He loved to work in the yard, play bingo, and to watch Crimson Tide football. Mr. Williams served in the United States Army, during World War II,Patton's Third Army, as a Sergeant in the 104th Infantry Division "Timberwolves", 414th Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, Company D. He served through out the war, was part of the second wave of Normandy Beach, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was part of the crossing of the Rhine River. He is survived by his second wife Fay Pace Williams and a brother, Hollis C. Fraser, Jr., both of Birmingham, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Jacobs Williams, his parents, his stepfather, Hollis C. Fraser, Sr., his brother Harland Newton, Jr., and sister Frances L. Williams Story. There will be no viewing. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2010 at 11:00am in Patton Chapel Cemetery.
