Perry Lawler James

Perry graduated from Phil Campbell High School and moved to Birmingham, where she met her husband, Jack, to whom she was married for 43 years before his death in 2004.

Perry and Jack were "fixtures" for many years at Lakeside Baptist Church, where many of her most treasured friendships were made. She was a loving mother to Vanessa and Chris while she worked for Hoffman Media for over 25 years. She had a loving smile that never left and a warm laugh. She was happiest when she was with family or digging in the yard with flowers.

Perry was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Zadie and Barney Lawler; husband, Wilbur J. James Jr.; brother, "Eddie" (Wanda); and sister, Sandra Lawler.

Survivors include Perry's brother, Linden (Linda); her daughter, Vanessa James Bragg (Dr. Taylor Bragg); her son, Chris James (Alice Traylor James); and grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Stuart and Davis Bragg, and Lauren and Riley James.

The family expresses thanks to the incredible caregivers of "Team Perry" who have loved her throughout her prolonged illness.

A private graveside service has been planned at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham.
