Despite facing challenges, Richard lived a meaningful life. He enjoyed taking rides in his car and watching his favorite television programs. He liked to ask people silly questions and giggle at their replies, and when he was young he would go everywhere with his Daniel Striped Tiger and Big Bird toys.
Richard touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his brothers, Thomas Sanders (Wendy) and Scott Sanders (Yan). His parents, Ruby and Buford Sanders, preceded him in death.
The graveside service will be Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Glenwood, Inc., 150 Glenwood Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242. Glenwood, Inc. is a facility for the care of autistic children and adults.
