Dr. Robert “Bob” Dahlin of Birmingham, Alabama was born in Charleston, West Virginia on June 30, 1953 and passed away October 27, 2013.
Bob received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University, his M.S. from the University of Kentucky, and his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama. He was the current Director of the Power Systems and Environmental Research Department at Southern Research Institute, where he worked for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deborah, and his son, Matthew. Also surviving are his sister, Joyce Anderson, and brother, John Dahlin of Charleston, West Virginia, as well as extended family, friends, and his beloved dog, Baxter.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Hwy. 119 in Pelham, Alabama, with a 3 p.m. memorial service immediately following in the funeral home's chapel.
