Robert E. “Bob” Pigford, 81, of Homewood, AL, went to heaven on October 22, 2012. He was born to William and Eileen Pigford in Toomsuba, MS on October 12, 1931. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jo Pigford; children, Welles Pigford (Sherry), Jill Pigford Morse (David), and 3 grandchildren, Tyler Noelle Morse, Daniel Scott Pigford, and Heidi Jolee Morse. He is also survived by siblings Bill Pigford and Marilyn Creel.
A Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, Bob served in the Korean War. He retired from Southern Company Services and Process Equipment and worked as a draftsman. Bob was a long time member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00PM on Friday October 26 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with visitation at 1:00 prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
