Robert Cole Watson was born on August 8, 1996, in Birmingham, Alabama to Lela Crabtree Watson and Alan Michael Watson. On January 7, 2020, at the age of 23, Cole walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cole was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bob and Leona Crabtree of Birmingham, Alabama; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Watson, of Birmingham, Alabama; and his aunt, Grace Perry Crabtree, of Elsberry, Missouri.
Cole is survived by his parents, his uncle, Don (Louise) Crabtree; his cousins Perry (Samantha) Crabtree; Jonathan Crabtree; Bobby (Tabatha) Crabtree; Allie Grace Crabtree; Thor and Axel Crabtree; his dog, Teddy; his cat, Gatsby; and a host of loving friends and relatives.
Cole attended Briarwood Christian High School and was a Senior at Auburn University scheduled to graduate in May of 2020 with a degree in Information Systems Management (ISM).
Cole was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with during his 23 years on this earth. He was a source of joy and pride to his family and a compassionate, loyal friend who brought joy, love, and laughter to those around him.
Cole enjoyed video gaming with friends, taking trips to Six Flags Over Georgia, hiking the Little River Canyon, surviving Breakout Birmingham, beach and lake trips, hanging with his friends, and traveling with his mom, especially to Walt Disney World.
There will be a Life Celebration Service on Saturday, January 18, at 10 a.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
Memorial gifts may be designated for the Scholarship Fund at Briarwood Christian School, Birmingham.
