Born in Cleveland, Ohio to William John Beutel Jr and Laverne Graves Beutel, Rollin was raised in Miami, Florida, where he enjoyed an idyllic childhood playing baseball in his neighborhood and developing a lifelong love for sports. He later attended Oglethorpe University, where he earned his degree before embarking on a long and successful career in the banking industry. In the later years of his life, he transitioned into the food industry, continuing to connect with people through his work.
Rollin had a deep passion for sports—especially baseball—and was a devoted fan of the Miami Marlins. He loved watching all types of games, and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy! or a chance to play Trivial Pursuit with family and friends.
He is survived by his best friend, Kristi Crosland; his son, Benjamin Beutel and daughter-in-law Katie Beutel and his cherished grandchildren, Abby, Jackson, and Brooks. Rollin’s warmth, generosity, and big heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, always ready to listen, help, and lift others up. He adored animals and had a special gift for making those around him feel seen and valued. Former coworkers often described him as someone they were honored to work alongside.
Rollin’s legacy is one of kindness, love, and unwavering generosity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a local animal shelter or charity of your choice.
