

Ruby is survived by her daughter Linda Viot; her brothers Charles Harding and Harold Harding; her grandchildren Kathy Vick (Darren), Marcus Viot, and Erich Viot (Sunshine); her great-grandchildren Layne Viot, Charlee Hillin, Chloe Vick, Cory Vick, and Caleb Vick; many nieces and nephews; as well as extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a WWII Veteran, J.D. Brasher; her son Gene Brasher; her father John Harding and mother Ila (Smith) Harding; her brother J.R. Harding; and her sisters Olivia Trott and Mary Hill.
Ruby was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a hard worker, strong-willed, and a fighter. Ruby worked for Cook Publications for many years and retired from a career with Leeds Watch Case of Timex. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Ruby was the matriarch of her family and her passing leaves behind a void that they will fill with many fond memories.
A visitation for Ruby will be held Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial at Pierce Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama off of Hwy 280.
