Hoover, AL -- Stephen Chris Karamichael, 64, passed away in Hoover on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, following a battle with Prostate Cancer.

Steve was born in Alexandria, VA on February 5, 1954, to parents Chris and Reiko Karamichael. Growing up, his family lived in France, Germany and Augusta, GA. He traveled Europe and Asia as a young man, experiencing the world and serving in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, he returned to Augusta, GA, to attend Augusta College where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Shortly after college graduation, Steve met the love of his life, Anneliese. After they married in Texas, he helped raise Sidney and Daniel Rosenquist, and they had two children together, Ryan and Nicole.

Working as a General Manager of private country clubs in Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina and Alabama, Steve loved his job. He had a big heart and was as big as life, always lighting up the room with his positive energy and booming voice. His light will be missed by family and friends forever.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Reiko Karamichael. Survivors include his beloved wife, Anneliese; sons, Sidney (Rebecca) Rosenquist, Daniel (Alicia) Rosenquist, and Ryan Karamichael; one daughter, Nicole Karamichael; sister, Dina Wise; grandchildren, Kaley, Samuel, Finn, Lucia, Liliana and Max; nephews, Chris and Matt; and niece, Michelle.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Church service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 307 19th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233. Family and friends will be escorted from the Cathedral to Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115 for a 2 p.m. burial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Fisher House Foundation or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
