
October 26, 1954 – January 17, 2014
The Andalusia, Alabama native went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday after a brief illness. He graduated from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama before earning a degree in music at University of Montevallo and later receiving a Master’s from the University of Alabama.
Steve was an avid golfer and musician, expressing his musical gift in multiple genres, but using his gift in praising the Lord and touching lives. After many years of a successful investment career, he founded Pryor McCormick in Birmingham, Alabama in 2008.
He was past chairman of the board for Safehouse Shelby County and currently served on the boards of Safe Harbor and AMBUCS.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Calvin B. Pryor. Survivors include Steve’s loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Pryor; mother, Jean C. Pryor; brother, David B. Pryor (Tonya); sisters, Lindy P. Taylor and Holly A. Pryor; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends who will miss him greatly.
Services will be Monday, January 20, 2014 at Mountain Brook Community Church, 3001 Hwy 280 East, Birmingham, Alabama 35243. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m., with Celebration of Life at 2:30 p.m. Private family graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mountain Brook Community Church’s Music Ministry, Safe Harbor, AMBUCS, or the charity of your choice.
