Steven Kelsie Kenner was born on December 1, 1957 and departed to heaven on February 12, 2017 at the age of 59 years old. Grace and Bernard Kenner gave birth to Steven in Cincinnati, Ohio-he was the youngest of seven. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shari Abington Kenner, his 28-year-old son, Alexander Kenner and his daughter-in-law, Sheila Kenner. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, father and eldest brother, Bernard F. Kenner. He is also survived by 5 of his siblings: Bonnie Di Giovenale, James(Jane) Kenner, John(Mary Ellen) Kenner, Martha(Kurt) Von Boeselager and Nancy Holliday. Along with being an amazing Husband, Father, Brother and Son; Steven was a very loving Uncle to 13 nephews/nieces and a loyal best friend to John Whitfield.
In 1974, Steven and his parents moved to Florida, where he graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School with the class of 1976. Following his high school graduation, he attended Okaloosa-Walton Community College. On May 18, 1979, Steven unexpectedly met the love of his life, Shari Abington, and married in 1980.
Steven held many interests throughout his life. Some that stood out the most were Florida State Football, Music, Coin Collecting, Gardening, Cooking, Fishing and spending time with his family & friends. He was a man that influenced so many people’s lives without knowing it himself. If he could give us one life lesson, it would be “No matter what, stay positive and optimistic but keep negativity out of your life.”
Steven’s Celebration of Life will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on February 17, 2017 at 5:00pm. His best friend, John Whitfield, will be the Clergy. In May, he will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
