Teeny, as known to everyone who loved her, age 83 of Hoover, passed away peacefully in her home on November 2, 2024. Officially her name was Margaret Granger Moseman, but everyone who knew and loved her called her Teeny. She was born in Birmingham on November 25, 1940. She was the beloved only child of John Edward Granger and Margaret Cretney Granger. They thought they couldn’t have children until Teeny came along late in life and what a joy she was! She was a daddy’s girl, and he treated her like a princess till the day he died. She graduated from Hueytown High school and received a Bachelor’s in Education from Auburn University. She was married to Donald Andrews Moseman on March 11, 1967.
She had many jobs throughout her life and worked hard to raise her three children after her young husband passed away just twelve years into marriage. She taught elementary school, taught kindergarten for years, and then had a wide variety of other jobs throughout the remainder of her life. She was a hard worker, but never serious. She was the life of the party everywhere she went. She was everyone’s favorite person. She always had a smile on her face and tried to leave you with a smile on yours.
She loved her back porch and decorated it to the hilt every year. She faced much loss in her life but never let that keep her from living a joyful happy life. She was proceeded in death by her husband and two of her children, Leslie Anne Moseman and Donald Andrews Moseman. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Moseman Hickman (Stephen) and her two beloved grandsons, Andrew William Hickman (Michelle) and John Stephen Hickman. Recently her greatest joy has been the birth of her great granddaughter, Magnolia Jane “Maddie” Hickman. And she was looking so forward to meeting her little sister who is due in December.
She will be missed by many, but she wouldn’t want us to stay sad. She has no more cancer, no more broken tailbone, no more diabetes and no more suffering. She is now whole, healed and celebrating in Heaven with a smile on her face. And just as always, she would want to leave each of us with a smile on ours.
A visitation for Teeny will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
